Work on the start-up and shutdown in X has yielded noticeable improvements. What's new? An alternative to resolving this issue is to try the install on a different PC or add a different CD/DVD drive (if possible). There we go… Fedora is able to boot the kernel and start up anaconda.
I don't even know what encryption algorithm it uses. Our friends at Novell recently released the second beta of OpenSuse 11 (although all the screenshots in this post are from Beta 1. After a final few questions (creating user, re-confirming my time preferences), I am asked to send my Hardware Profile to Fedora. I know it's available (and enabled) in BIOS, but I'm not seeing the option in Virtual PC.

I am guessing that this is a Bitlocker-esque feature, although I can't make heads or tails of how exactly this feature works on the Fedora Encrypted Filesystem Support page.
