I'm just guessing here, but try disabling the floppy controller both ide controllers and the sata controllers and see if you can get past the post error. When I logged in I had all my desktop icons and file access. The time now is 01:17 PM.
For SATA devices: 1.Please adjust the jumpers of your SATA2 (3.0 Gb/s) hard disk drive as SATA1 (1.5 Gb/s) mode if your motherboard supports SATA1 (1.5 Gb/s) mode only. 2.Please replace Jose Back to top #5 hamluis hamluis Moderator Moderator 50,512 posts OFFLINE Gender:Male Location:Killeen, TX Local time:12:17 AM Posted 22 November 2009 - 09:27 AM I would try replacing or Problem solved Gear in this thread HP 378225-001 System board (motherb 378225-001 HEWLETT-PACKARD SYSTEM BOARD WITH MOBILE INTEL 915GM EXPRESS CHIPSET More on HP 378225-001 System board (motherb Price: $300.54

What is my motherboard? It starts detecting the drives and stops displaying the famous 0078 code. In Safe Mode, it would hang after the following entry system32/config/system. Learn More.
You did both! :~> It seems odd, but over time, due to oxidation and vibration, you can get really weird behavior from poor connections. I disconnected the C: IDE drive and now this system will get past post but still freezes at the same original issue point. The onboard raid is disabled. Stuck at POST, no bios, no boot, no errors in POST, BBS won't respond.
Note this BIOS hang thing only started happening after I ran FIXMBR in the recovery console Back to top #7 joseibarra joseibarra Members 817 posts OFFLINE Gender:Male Location:Downstairs Local time:01:17 But im glad you sorted everything out! So right now I just have 2 sata drives connected with XP on what used to be the E: drive. I then shut it down a proceeded to reconnect and reinsert all the cards (Modem, audio) and reconnected all the conectors (SATA2, and 4 IDE devices).
Thanks for all the input, I left the battery out all day, hopefully a miracle will bring it back if not I will have to go to E-Bay.
